Honda is recalling over 256,600 Accord Hybrid vehicles (2023-2025 models) in the U.S. due to a software error that may cause a sudden loss of drive power, increasing crash risk. Dealers will provide a free software update.
Honda is recalling more than 256,600 Accord Hybrid vehicles from the 2023 to 2025 model years in the U.S. The recall is due to a software error that could lead to a sudden loss of drive power, as part of the internal software may reset while driving. This issue, caused by 'improper software programming by a supplier' affecting the integrated control module CPU, increases the risk of crashes or injuries. Honda estimates that 0.3% of the recalled vehicles are affected. To fix this, Honda dealers will reprogram the software free of charge. Owner notification letters are scheduled for January 5, but the improved software is already available. Drivers can check if their vehicle is included via the NHTSA site or Honda's recall lookup, or by contacting Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda has received 832 warranty claims related to the issue since March 2024, but no reports of related injuries.
