Jorginho stated the guard approached his family's table 'in an extremely aggressive manner' and asserted that Roan did not deserve her fans' affection. Roan, responding on Instagram, clarified that the security guard was not part of her personal security team and that she did not witness the alleged incident involving a woman and a child. She emphasized that it's 'unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions' and affirmed her positive feelings towards fans and children. The controversy further escalated when Rio's new mayor, Eduardo Cavaliere, announced that Chappell Roan would be prohibited from performing on Copacabana Beach during his tenure, unlike other major artists.
