The Los Angeles Dodgers secured a thrilling 3-1 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 6 of the World Series, forcing a decisive Game 7, thanks to a spectacular and historic game-ending double play by Kiké Hernández in the ninth inning.

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 in a dramatic Game 6, pushing the World Series to a winner-take-all Game 7. The game's pivotal moment occurred in the ninth inning when, with a two-run lead and runners on second and third, Kiké Hernández made a breathtaking, game-ending left field-to-second base double play. Hernández snagged what might have been a tying two-run single by Andrés Giménez and then delivered a one-hop throw to second baseman Miguel Rojas to double up Addison Barger, marking the first such play in postseason history. Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched a strong game for the Dodgers, allowing just one run over six innings. Mookie Betts, breaking out of a slump, delivered a crucial two-run single in a three-run third inning against Kevin Gausman, which also included Will Smith's go-ahead double. George Springer hit an RBI single for the Blue Jays in the bottom of the third. The ninth inning saw a scare for the Dodgers as Roki Sasaki hit a batter and Addison Barger hit a ball that lodged in the left-center wall, resulting in a ground-rule double and putting runners on second and third. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts brought in Tyler Glasnow, who was slated to start Game 7, to escape the jam. Glasnow got Ernie Clement to pop out before Hernández's heroics sealed the win. Max Scherzer will start Game 7 for Toronto, while the Dodgers' starter is still TBD, with Shohei Ohtani or Glasnow being possibilities. The Dodgers are now one win away from becoming the first repeat champions since the 1998-2000 New York Yankees.
