The U.S. men's Olympic hockey team, gold medalists, visited President Donald Trump at the White House and later attended his State of the Union address.

The gold-medal-winning U.S. men’s Olympic hockey team visited President Donald Trump at the White House, where they were applauded by staffers and greeted by Trump in the redecorated Oval Office. Trump, who recognized all the players, had previously invited the team via a phone call after their victory over Canada. The U.S. women's team, also gold medalists, declined a similar invitation due to scheduling. For forward Matthew Tkachuk, a back-to-back Stanley Cup champion, this was his third White House visit in just over a year. The team traveled from Italy, celebrated in Miami with fans, and received a heroes’ welcome at the airport, with Panthers general manager Bill Zito emphasizing the significance of their sport gaining global attention.
