An ICE agent fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, igniting nationwide protests and a heated debate, with the Department of Homeland Security releasing footage claiming Good was 'stalking' an operation.

Widespread protests have erupted across the U.S. after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Jonathan Ross fatally shot 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. Demonstrations, dubbed 'ICE Out For Good,' have taken place in cities including Minneapolis, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and Austin, largely remaining peaceful but with some arrests, such as 29 individuals in Minneapolis after a hotel was vandalized. The Department of Homeland Security released a video asserting Good was 'STALKING and IMPEDING a law enforcement operation,' while the Trump administration claimed she was a 'violent rioter' whose actions constituted 'domestic terrorism,' justifying the officer's use of deadly force. However, former ICE officers and police misconduct experts have questioned this justification. Over $1.5 million has been raised for Good's family. The incident has also seen Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey defend his strong criticism of ICE, stating that 50% of the city's shootings this year have been ICE-related. In related news, the Trump administration announced a review of thousands of refugee cases in Minnesota, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem implemented a new policy requiring a week's notice for congressional visits to ICE facilities.
