A 21-year-old Washington state woman, Teresa Youngblut, is accused of fatally shooting a US Customs and Border Protection agent, David Maland, during a traffic stop in Vermont. The incident occurred on Monday on Interstate 91 in Coventry. Youngblut and her companion, Felix Baukholt, a German national with an expired visa, were under surveillance prior to the stop due to a hotel employee reporting them carrying a gun and wearing tactical gear. Both Maland and Baukholt were shot and died from their injuries. Youngblut has been charged with assault on a federal law enforcement officer.
