Joshua, who was seated in the rear of the Lexus SUV, sustained minor injuries and is in stable condition, hospitalized for observation and treatment. His promoter, Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing, confirmed the incident. The accident occurred around 11 a.m. local time on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Preliminary investigations by the Federal Road Safety Corps indicate that Joshua's vehicle was traveling beyond the legal speed limit, lost control during an overtaking maneuver, and crashed into a stationary truck by the side of the road. Nigerian President Bola Tinubu called Joshua in the hospital to offer condolences for the deceased and wish him a speedy recovery. Jake Paul, whom Joshua recently defeated, also expressed prayers for those affected. Joshua, who has strong ties to Nigeria through his parents, is currently receiving medical attention while authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash. Despite the severe incident, medical professionals have confirmed Joshua's stable condition, and he does not require emergency medical intervention at this time.
