Saturday Night Live is launching its new season with five new cast members and several high-profile departures. Bad Bunny headlines the premiere, followed by Amy Poehler and Sabrina Carpenter, as the show celebrates recent Emmy wins and its 50th anniversary.
The new season of 'Saturday Night Live' is set to feature five new featured players: Ben Marshall (an existing writer), Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, and Veronika Slowikowska. These additions follow significant cast changes, including the confirmed departures of Ego Nwodim, Devon Walker, Emil Wakim, and Michael Longfellow, with reports also suggesting Heidi Gardner's exit. Superstar Bad Bunny will host the season premiere, making his second 'SNL' hosting appearance, with Doja Cat as the musical guest. Bad Bunny is also making headlines as the Super Bowl halftime show headliner and for concluding a major residency in Puerto Rico. Subsequent hosts include SNL alumna Amy Poehler, who will front the October 11th episode, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the show's original premiere, with Role Model performing. Sabrina Carpenter will pull double duty as host and musical guest on October 18th. The show recently received 12 Emmys for its 50th season and anniversary programming, including an award for outstanding variety special.
