Flyysoulja of the Island Boys clarified his recent hospitalization was due to drug-induced psychosis caused by substance use and sleep deprivation, not an overdose, as initially reported.

Flyysoulja, whose real name is Alex Venegas, from the Island Boys, has set the record straight regarding his recent hospitalization. He told TMZ that doctors clarified his diagnosis, stating he suffered a drug-induced psychotic episode brought on by drug use and sleep deprivation, rather than an overdose. He confirmed that no Narcan was administered during the medical emergency on October 29, when he was rushed to a Miami trauma unit after using a combination of cocaine, benzodiazepines, and Percocet. Medical professionals reportedly caught the psychosis at its onset and addressed it immediately. Flyysoulja is now taking psychiatric medication, which he credits with helping him stay clean and sober, and is attending therapy. While he feels good, he has no plans to enter rehab. Despite the health scare, he is back to working on music and a music video for an upcoming project. This incident comes nearly a year after a previous occurrence in November where he was also Baker Acted following another drug-induced psychotic episode at his Miami home. In January, he had expressed intentions to go to rehab to address his substance use.
