Frances Tiafoe battled past Alex Michelsen in a thrilling five-set quarter-final at the US Open 2026, while Aryna Sabalenka also advanced after a challenging match. Upcoming clashes include Tiafoe awaiting the Alcaraz v Shelton winner, and an all-American quarter-final between Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro. The day also saw doubles victories for Britain's Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski, and wheelchair champions Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid.
And I’m going to strut (or more accurately stumble) away from my keyboard too, my fingers throbbing probably as much as Michelsen’s head is right now.
