Authorities have detained a person for questioning in the kidnapping of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who vanished from her Arizona home on February 1st. The detention occurred during a traffic stop south of Tucson, just hours after the FBI released surveillance videos depicting a masked individual, possibly armed, outside Guthrie's front door the night she disappeared. The footage, recovered from 'back-end systems,' shows the person attempting to obscure a doorbell camera with a gloved hand and a plant. Concurrently, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and FBI are conducting a court-authorized search at a location in Rio Rico, about an hour south of Tucson. Nancy Guthrie, mother of 'Today' show host Savannah Guthrie, is described as mentally sound but with limited mobility and requires daily medication, raising urgent concerns for her well-being. Her family has made public pleas and indicated a willingness to pay a ransom. Investigators have stated they believe she was taken against her will, and DNA tests confirmed blood found on her porch belonged to her, intensifying the urgency of the search.
