John F. Kennedy’s granddaughter, Tatiana Schlossberg, 34, has disclosed her terminal acute myeloid leukemia diagnosis in 'The New Yorker,' stating she has about a year to live. She also criticized policies pushed by her cousin, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., for potentially harming cancer patients.

Tatiana Schlossberg, daughter of Caroline Kennedy, revealed her terminal acute myeloid leukemia diagnosis, a rare mutation, in an essay published in 'The New Yorker' on the 62nd anniversary of her grandfather's assassination. Diagnosed in May 2024 at age 34 after her second child's birth, she has undergone rounds of chemotherapy, two stem cell transplants, and clinical trials, with one doctor indicating she might live for about another year. An environmental journalist, Schlossberg used her platform to criticize her cousin, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., for policies she believes could hurt cancer patients, specifically mentioning cuts to mRNA vaccine research which has potential applications in cancer treatment. She expressed profound fears that her young children won't remember her, and sadness over losing her 'wonderful life' with her husband, George Moran, while also feeling the pain her diagnosis inflicts on her family, despite their attempts to hide it.
