Tyler James Robinson, 22, was arrested and charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, and obstruction of justice following the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. According to a probable cause statement, Robinson's family reported he had become "more political" recently and expressed dislike for Kirk's views during a dinner conversation. While Robinson is registered to vote in Utah, he is unaffiliated with any party and hasn't voted in recent elections. His parents, who are registered Republicans, own a granite countertop business. The community expressed shock and horror at the news, though some also praised Robinson's family for cooperating with authorities. Robinson's political leanings remain unclear, and it is unknown if he has legal representation.
