A University of Michigan student, Temulun Togochog, who reportedly boasted about being recently released from a mental institution and displayed psychiatric medications, attacked Jewish activist Lizzie Benichou during a campus debate. Togochog allegedly shoved Benichou to the ground, was arrested, and subsequently released, with the case forwarded to prosecutors.

Temulun Togochog, a University of Michigan student and Mongolian-American activist, is reported to have attacked Jewish influencer Lizzie Benichou during a 'Liberty Under Fire USA tour stop' debate on the Ann Arbor campus. According to Benichou, Togochog, known for advocating for ethnic Mongolians, ranted about having just been released from a mental institution, allegedly stating she would 'be happy to go back if it meant she got to kill me.' Online posts by Togochog, since made private, showed her displaying mental health prescriptions, including antipsychotics, bipolar medication, and antidepressants. The confrontation began during an open debate featuring signs questioning Islam's compatibility with Western values. Togochog reportedly struck conservative influencer Joe Redden with her phone before accosting Benichou. The attack escalated when Benichou and fellow activist Cam Higby challenged Togochog regarding women's freedoms in Iran, prompting Togochog to lunge and shove Benichou to the ground. Campus police responded to a noise complaint, witnessed the assault, and took Togochog into custody. She was processed and released, and the incident has been forwarded to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Benichou, who sustained a 'hard fall' but was medically treated and released, affirmed she would not be dissuaded from exercising her First Amendment rights. The incident reportedly occurred on November 1, 2026.
