The shooter, a fellow student, opened fire with a handgun both inside and outside the school building before shooting himself. Law enforcement officers arrived within five minutes and secured the scene; no officers fired their weapons. Over 100 officers from the surrounding area responded to assist. The injured students were initially listed in critical condition at St. Anthony Hospital but one is now stable with non-life-threatening injuries.
