Grammy-winning singer Chappell Roan and several other artists are leaving the Wasserman talent agency after its CEO, Casey Wasserman, was linked to Ghislaine Maxwell in recently released Jeffrey Epstein files, despite Wasserman denying any wrongdoing.

Grammy-winning singer Chappell Roan has announced her departure from the Wasserman talent agency, led by entertainment executive Casey Wasserman, following the release of government files that included flirtatious emails between Wasserman and Ghislaine Maxwell in 2003. Maxwell was later convicted for her role in Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking ring. While Wasserman has not been accused of any wrongdoing and expressed deep regret for his correspondence, stating it occurred "long before her horrific crimes came to light," Roan cited a duty to protect her teams and refusal to overlook actions that conflict with her moral values. She emphasized that artists deserve representation aligned with their values and supporting their safety and dignity. Roan's decision has been echoed by several other artists on the agency's roster, including bands like Wednesday, Beach Bunny, Water From Your Eyes, and Sylvan Esso, with some demanding Wasserman's removal or the agency to change its name. Casey Wasserman, who also chairs the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, has faced calls to step down from that role, though the International Olympic Committee has stated it will not intervene. Wasserman maintains he never had a personal or business relationship with Epstein, having met him only once in 2002 on a philanthropy trip where he claims he witnessed nothing inappropriate.
