At 88 years old, acclaimed Hollywood actor Anthony Hopkins has achieved his long-held dream by signing a record deal with Decca Classics. His debut single, 'Bracken Road,' is scheduled for release this Friday, followed by his first album, 'Life Is a Dream,' which will be released on August 21st. The album is a collection of musical pieces he has composed over six decades. Hopkins, a two-time Oscar winner, stated that music was his 'first desire' and he has been composing his entire life. 'Bracken Road' is inspired by his childhood memories of Margam in south Wales. The album's compositions are performed by the Grammy-winning conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the Philharmonia Orchestra. Hopkins, who began playing piano at age four and composing in childhood, expressed deep gratitude for the collaboration. Other tracks on 'Life Is a Dream' include 'My Fatherland,' a tribute to his humble beginnings in Port Talbot, and pieces drawing on memories of his grandfather, early cinema experiences, and close family.
