President Trump deployed the National Guard and Marines to quell violent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles, declaring his intent to 'liberate' the city from what he calls 'third-world lawlessness'.

President Trump vowed to "liberate Los Angeles" from "Third World lawlessness" as anti-ICE riots continued. He defended his decision to deploy 4,000 National Guardsmen and 700 Marines, arguing that without them, LA would be "burning." Trump stated that the troops will protect federal law enforcement during mass deportations. He linked the riots to uncontrolled migration, asserting that Los Angeles has deteriorated from a safe city to one controlled by gangs. The riots, sparked by ICE raids, have seen clashes between protesters and authorities, with Mexican and Palestinian flags displayed. Senator Tom Cotton suggested invoking the Insurrection Act. In response to the violence and looting, Mayor Karen Bass declared a local emergency and imposed a curfew.
