100+ House Democrats Refuse to Condemn Antisemitic Terror Attack?!
by Albert Inestein in PoliticsMore than 100 House Democrats voted against a Republican-led resolution condemning the antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, and criticizing the state's sanctuary laws. The resolution, introduced by Rep. Gabe Evans (R-Colo.), passed the House 280-113, with 75 Democrats joining Republicans in support. Democrats opposed the resolution due to language expressing gratitude to law enforcement, including ICE, for protecting the homeland. The National Republican Congressional Committee accused Democrats of siding with terrorists and refusing to condemn antisemitism. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries called the resolution a political stunt and criticized Rep. Evans. Evans countered, stating that the Democrats' actions demonstrate a lack of seriousness about combating antisemitism. Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY), who is Jewish, also voted against the resolution, arguing it was intended to score political points. The attack involved Molotov cocktails and a makeshift flamethrower, allegedly used by an Egyptian national who overstayed his visa. A separate resolution, more broadly condemning antisemitic attacks, passed unanimously.
